Well, every Patek enthusiast was waiting for this since years. Most of us love the 5070 - 5970 - 5004, especially for the superb hand wound movement.
Years ago Patek made an inhouse automatic (5960 and 5980) but most high-end watch lovers prefer a manual movement
And finally the offer us this CH29-535PS
Height : 5.35mm
Diameter : 29.6mm
Power reserve : 65 hours
Imo it looks like the praised CH27-70 (Lemania based)
Only 1 bad think ... we men will have to wait a few extra months (Basel 2010) because right now the only model with this movement is the 7071 .. which is one for woman
Ladies first this time :-)
But if the would make this larger (40 instead of 35 mm) and without diamonds, it would be a perfect watch for us ;-)
So in the near future we have something which will replace the 5070 - 5970 - 5004. It is possible to make this more complicated , think about a perpetual or a split second.
And maybe later a super complication with tourbillon and minute repeater because today does not offer a chrono in their super complications
