Great article - thank you John! As I passe dover the "four-oh", I just tried aout one in rose gold with a plain polished bezel - the most elegant model I know.

Hi John

A super article and a fine homepage

I am a big fan of Day-Date from I bought my first Datejust in 1982

I like YG, RG, WG and Platinum.

If I had the possibility I would have one of each

I have owned the 18238 (YG) and the 118208 (YG) with the Oyster bracelet

Know I have a Day-Date in Platinum 118206 with the Ice blue roman deal

It is an incredible watch, really understated

You can feel it is more heavy the YG. The DD PT weight around 225 gram and the YG around 170 gram depending of how many links you have on your bracelet

I bought the 18238 when I was 40 years old. Know I am near 50, so the time was right for the platinum

I really love the idea of the DAY in the Rolex President Day-Date. I did consider getting one until I realized it was "fixed and unchanged" at 36mm!

I think 38-39mm is the smallest I will go but still not so desirable for me!
