Well Theo, actually the Casio was doing a much better job than the Rolex for a combat diver.

They are not watch collectors , they are professionnal and they need the best tool possible.

Plus when they had to choose money was an issue but not the only one in that case.

In the 80's the German Kampschwimmers switched from Blancpain 50 Fathoms (expensive) to a titanium IWC Ocean 2000 (very expensive). I know it caused quit a stir when some political people discovered how much a single watch costed...

Thanks a lot for your explanations. I can well imagine that money was a considerable issue when acquiring a bunch of watches - how many pieces are we talking about?

From the look of the two different watches I gathered that the Submariner would be a lot easier to handle. In fact, the Casio seems to me a lot of fiddling about . But of course you are absolutely right, that they are not watch collectors.
However, the Submariner looks just fantastic!
