Ich muß Englisch jetzt sprechen:

The serial number is for 1968. The caseback is stamped II/70. It was sold in 1974 in Melbourne. Actually, I think it was sold once before and returned to the dealer. That would explain why it has a hand written guarantee certificate. Also, the receipt for the purchase shows the original owner trading in his current Rolex for this new Milgauss. That is very rare since the Milgauss was not popular.

The original owner is now dead. I purchased the watch from the original owner's son with help from Ferntree Gully Watch and Clock (also in Melbourne). I am still in contact with the owner's son. I also have a letter from him confirming his father purchased the watch and he also confirms that his father purchased the watch with the 7836 bracelet installed and it is the original bracelet. The 258 endlinks are also original.

Rolex left the original domed crystal on the watch. Usually they change to the new, square tropic 32 cystal. I am happy that they left the domed crystal on the watch and still gave a full guarantee. I have a spare domed tropic 32 as well.

As you can see from the service papers, they did not polish the watch. It has never been polished. Ever. The original case angles are clearly visible.

I think it is safe to say that this watch has very rarely been worn.
