New MemberJust a quick hello. I have been a sometimes lurker for a number of years. I have been on many other boards as well as RolexWatchTime. My name is Tommy Taylor and I live in Texas. We kind of speak English down here...LOL!

I wanted to list some watches that I am looking for papers for so I joined up.

I hope to spend a little more time around this forum in the future.

I like old and new. Mostly old...REALLY old...:-)

So cheers to everyone here on R-L-X!

Themenstarter ThemenstarterHere's the first one I ever bought. It's from 1946.

I just finished restoring it. Apologies for the refinished dial....it was refinished when I got it and I just love the style so I had it done again to be mint.

I also am learning watchmaking. I work on these movements.

Themenstarter ThemenstarterThanks All!Most of the folks on the other forums have seen most of these. I have quite a few other oldies like this that I will try and retrieve the pictures of to share. It's fun that there aren't so many bubbles and the like over here and that you all haven't really seen them. I think sometimes with the sports mode craze (and I certainly have my share and enjoy them too), that these pieces don't get the appreciation that they might. They are overshadowed by Subs and GMTs. I like all Rolex pretty much. I started with these old types back in around 1985. My father bought his new in 1949 and I still have it with the box tags papers etc. I'm in the middle of getting it put all back together and when I get it done I will post a little story. :-)

 Best,

 Tommy

  Themenstarter ThemenstarterHere's a couple more...One I restored for a friend.

1941 ref. 3065 Original dial and hands and beads of rice bracelet. A tiny little patch we had to do on the minute hand. Better than losing the rest of the lume.

Then here is one I bought for a godson of mine and restored.

 1967 ref. 1501. I like these.

 Here's one I bought recently...what a catch!

1938 complete set! I don't need the zertifikat for this one!

 I like 40's parts too!
