Probably the same reason which is responsible that these watches still have no date function nowadays...![]()

hello,
anybody know the reason why some early professional-milgauss,EXP- watches were released w/o date ?

I would say it was and it still is a question of a lower retail price.
Besides that not everybody needs the date function.Gruß, Hannes

I think one of the reasons a Milgauss has no date is some sort of Faraday cage without window.
And the professional Explorer needs no date on his watch - he has his diary.Captain Hindsight - the Hero of the Modern Age!

In that time... those watches where simple tool-watches.... no expansive Grails.... or high-class.
High quality TOOL watch... simple... and focused.
As the Submariner... no Date needed...
Just hardcore design.
