Are Rolex Bracelet's made from 904L too?Hey Guys - I've always been under the impression that Rolex bracelets were made from 904L just like the cases. My one of my Admins on WATCH TALK FORUMS heard from his dealer who swears he got it from Rolex USA (I know...I know...) that Rolex bracelet's aren't made from 904L steel. In any event, he asked me to confirm... John B. Holbrook, II

	21.01.2008, 08:40 #3Hi John,
the bracelets are also made out of 904 L (or more precise steel No. 1.4539 in the EU or No. N08904 in the US) in special ESR-grade (Electro-Slag-Remelting procedure, which gives a very high degree of purity).

The raw material for the bracelets in form of precision strips is mainly delivered from the ThyssenKrupp Praezisionsband GmbH (a daughter company of the ThyssenKrupp Nirosta GmbH) located in a small village in Germany named Dahlerbrueck near Luedenscheid in Northrhine-Westfalia.

The exact composition of the “Rolex”-steel within the tolerances of 1.4539 is a special development between TK and Rolex, but only known to both companies.

The TK Praezisionsband GmbH delivers yearly approx. 20 to 30 tons of precision strips to Rolex for manufacturing the bracelets.

 Best Regards
