The rarest modern submariner date

This picture is pretty bad , I know
But it's the only way I can show the difference of the dials.
As you see the ona on the left is 100% glossy while the one at the right 'WAS' glossy, for some reason it seems to bel turning matte.

the ref 168000

and the serial numer (a 9 million and an early R)

You'll see Kristian Haagen has a similar one.
Did they have different dial makers at that time ?
