The rarest modern submariner date

This picture is pretty bad , I know
But it's the only way I can show the difference of the dials.
As you see the ona on the left is 100% glossy while the one at the right 'WAS' glossy, for some reason it seems to bel turning matte.

I know, it sounds strange but look at this one ;

and put this "like this 1988 168000" - including the double quotes - in the search function.
You'll see Kristian Haagen has a similar one.

Did they have different dial makers at that time ?
Is one of the 2 inferior quality ?
