Wow! Very nice watches Boris. Fantastic!
Is there also a Superluminova dial in the 7016?

    Hallo Percy

The dial on the 7016 is just a regular tritium dial, but the hands have aged differently from the indexes.

There is no SuperLuminova dial available for the 7016 and, in any case, Rolex does not service this model anymore.

For the 94010, I had it serviced 18 months ago and the hands are new, Superluminova from the Rolex SC. The dial is the original one, as Rolex does not propose service Superluminova dial with square indexes for the 94010 (they only propose one with round indexes). But what I did is I sent the dial to the US to Jack at IWW for him to clean the indexes and apply Superluminova on them, to keep them consistent with the hands.

    Cheers

thanks for the info. Rolex really does not service the 7016 anymore?
    Why?

Yep, they won't touch the thing

I suppose that, when they run out of spare pieces for some old models that have not been in production for several decades, they just don't bother having new spares produced.

Typically, here in Singapore they refused to service it because they did not have pieces for this ETA movment anymore. Called the Rolex SC in Paris, and they too confirmed they would not take the 7016. To add insult to injury, when they do not service a watch anymore, they refuse to sell ANY spare for the watch.

    My 7016 came like this:

So it was missing the bezel and insert. Rolex Singapore refused to sell me a replacement set, despite the fact that it is the very same as for the 5513 or the 94010. I eventually had to send my girlfriend with my 94010 from which I had removed the bezel for them to accept to sell me a new one.

It's getting no fun at all collecting these old Rolex/Tudor. Imagine the day when they start refusing 5513/1675/1680...

    Cheers

    Very nice collection indeed!

I especially like the fact, that you have SL replacement dials on the 1680 and 1675.
The look is much cleaner with a new dial than it would be with old yellow or brownish indexes.I too would prefer this clean look over anything that is aged to theses dark colors.
And in addition you can tell the time even in darkness!

    Very nice.

The Marine Tudor is also very nice.
The guy who did the SL-Job on the dial seems to know his business!
Also looks very clean and is much better than having a watch like this with round indexes!

The fact that Rolex doesn´t sell spare parts just because they don´t service any model completely any more is just not tolerable. They could at least take in the watch for service and do the work they still have parts for in stock.
    Beste Grüsse, Olli

Wow...those are some great shots! I didn't realize that Rolex SC would paint a 1680 dial with SuperLuminova....how much did that cost if you don't mind my asking?

Good question. I would not know as when I did buy the watch, it already had that dial.

Now, for what I know, Rolex SC will not repaint your dial with SL. If you hand them a 1680 / 1675 / 1655 / 1665 / 1016 with an original tritium dial, they replace it with spare dials they had retreated with SL. Probably the 1st batches they retreated for service purposes were still old tritium ones, hence the "SWISS T<25" markings, while later one were produced directly with SL and bear a "SWISS" markings.

As for mine, I can only assume it was part of the earlier batches.

    Yes, mighty Shark.

For the 9411/0, they have replacement SL dials with square indexes, although I believe these service dials are glossy, as opposed to the matte finish of the original ones.

But for the 94010, the only replacement SL dials available are with round indexes and gloss dial. I should know, that's how they gave the watch back to me, before I had the original dial cleaned and relumed.
