"The very rare Zephyr Date...made for the USA market only in '68 and '69 (I believe on this second year), it is with the later machined style Bezel. They came on oyster bracelets and also on lizard straps. I found mine with its original brown lizard strap and 14k buckle. It is a great looking watch...James Dowling (himself) tried to buy mine off my wrist at a chance airport meeting. I later did sell/trade it and looking back wished I had sold it to JD as it would have been nice to have contributed to a collection of his stature (for at least for as long as he would have kept it).

The Zephyr date is the standard 34mm case...I have seen them in solid gold and two tone...I believe the solid golds are just in 14k but I may be mistaken. If you can find a clean older style non-date Zephyr with the diamond cut bezel and with its original bracelet and domed crystal, that would also be a great piece.

Hope I've helped.
