John,
very nice work indeed - the watch looks stunning and the dial and hands are awesome!
Could you give us a few details on the work that was done inside the watch as I think on a watch this old, there most likely had to be done a few replacements on internal parts of the movement.
Oh.....and another thing: although you describe yourself as not being a vintage guy - if I was in your shoes I would not sell this watch even If I´m not into vintage watches.
If you don´t need the benjamins right now I would just keep it. After all you´re a collector - and in 20 years, when you buy the Submariner Model of that time, you´ll be happy to present the "Evolution of the Rolex Sub" in your collection.
Best regards,
OliverBeste Grüsse, Olli

Thanks...I was sort of nervous through the process, and wondered if the vintage online community would not like the restoration...but everyone seems positive.Original von Der Stahlmann

john - absolutely marvelous!!!
lovely lovely lovley.
i just missed to buy an 1967 (year of my birth) 5513 in a comperable condition to your 1680 (after the refit) and i feel quite sad about it. so if you don´t need the money, then keep the watch.

Oliver - check out part I of the article and the movement photos - it really was in good condition. They only needed to replace the winding tube and crown.Original von [Dents]Milchschnitte
