Hallo Leute,

da mich die "Streitfragen" Hai/Delphin, Fake/echt beschäftigt haben, war ich so frei, den Fotografen gestern noch schnell anzumailen und ihn zu bitten, das klarzustellen (mein Englisch ist schon länger her ):

Hi Kurt,

we had a discussion today about your fantastic dolphin/surfer shot at the german Rolex watch forum (http://www.r-l-x.de/wbb2/thread.php?...tuser=0&page=1 .

Some don’t belive that it is a dolphin, it should be a shark. Even the hint on the horizontal „back steering“ (don’t know the English word for it, sharks have it vertically) didn’t help.

But when I read on surfshooters.com that the second picture of the dolphin alone was shot a few frames after the one with the surfer, it can’t be true. Acc. to the exif data of the pictures it was shot a second before the other.

Could you please confirm to me personally that it was realy a dolphin? The proof with your comment to the picture is difficult, cause of the „fault“ in the time sequence.

Thanks and greetings from Germany

Hi,

You can confirm it, in German ;- ), that it is in FACT a Dolphin and not a shark.

That photo has bought me many, many watches !! Rolly, Omega, Glycine, Alpina, IWC........

The exif data is probably right. I have an 8 shot sequence of the event. Only 2 frames have the surfer in them, as I was panning a Canon 600 f4L lens across the horizon, as the dolphin 'surfed' the wave.

Hope this info helps and settles the dilema. Tell all the boys on the German Rolly forum, I'm all about Watches and BMWs !! ;- )

Cheers,
Kurt
