Meet the experts:

Osvaldo Patrizzi
Chairman and CEO

Osvaldo Patrizzi, initially trained as a watchmaker in Italy, has greatly contributed to the growth in the worldwide interest for horology and for collecting wristwatches. With his energy and passion, he has positioned Antiquorum as the world's leading auctioneer in the field of horology, conducting 10 sales per year in Geneva, New York an Hong Kong. Osvaldo Patrizzi has an ever innovative approach to the business: He was the first to introduce wristwatches at auction in 1980 and the first to market t he concept of thematic auctions; beginning with "The Art of Patek Philippe" in 1989. He has instigated the highly innovative concept the "Antiquorum Grading System", available in the catalogues since 1997: an invaluable tool for collectors to understand the watch they are interested in with just the catalogue at hand. He implemented, as the first auction house, interactive real-time on-line internet bidding in 2000 and in 2001 made available a watch database on Antiquorum's web-site. Osvaldo Patrizzi opened up the watch collectors' market in Asia holding the first watch auction in Hong Kong already in 1979. Mr. Patrizzi has written numerous articles and many books on horology that are references for any collector and museum.
