Was soll das "ö" in Motörhead?

Habe ich mich schon immer gefragt. Kann jemand Licht ins Dunkel bringen. Ist das nur eine stylistische Merkwürdigkeit, die nur dafür das ist, Aufmerksamkeit zu erzeugen? Insbesondere bei Amerikanern (die damit nichts anfangen können)? Einen lautsprachlichen Hintergrund dürfte es ja wohl nicht geben, oder?

Ach, die Rock-Dots..

Kilmister war dabei beeinflusst von Blue Öyster Cult. Zudem war er vorher bei Hawkwind, bevor er rausflog. Davor schrieb er für die noch einen Song mit Titel "Motorhead".

Damit es besser und böser klingt, verfiel er - oder ein anderer? - wohl auf die Dots. Wie auch die Jungs von Mötley Crüe.
