Ich bin in 2 Wochen in New Jersey und New York. 2002 war keine Steuer faellig in New Jersey. Aber ich werde mich mal ueberzeugen. Melde mich dann wieder. New York hat dafuer ne dicke Steuer, aber immer noch halb soviel wie wir in good ol' Germany.

Ich glaube, Nevada ist auch so ein kleines Steuerparadies, aber ich war noch nie dort.

New Jersey has a 7% state sales tax. This is split as 3.5% for the State, and 3.5% for the municipality. All of the sales tax does not go to state. In Urban Enterprise Zones, the State portion of the sales tax is waived to encourage economic development, resulting in an effective tax rate of 3.5%. New Jersey does not charge sales tax on unprepared food, household paper products, medicine, and clothing.

New Jersey does not charge sales tax on gasoline, but gasoline is subject to a $0.145/gallon excise tax.

Sales of clothing and accessories that are made of fur from the hide or pelt of an animal that is valued at $500 or more are subject to a 6% Fur Clothing Gross Receipts Tax.

perfekte Antwort. Benzin ist uebrigens in New Jersey wesentlich billiger als in New York, und dazu kommt ein wunderbarer kleiner selbstverstaendlicher Luxus an allen Tankstellen: Man kriegt das Benzin von dem Tankstellenwaerter ins Auto gefuellt und darf nicht selber tanken. Ganz cool!
