this is a 168000 ? if so, this is the 2nd one i've seen w/o the white gold surrounds. when would these have been made...as these came AFTER the transitional model, i didnt think u could get a dial like this.

Hi Larry,
yes it is a 168000 withouth the wg markers. The Ser.No. is 9378.... sold Nov. 1986.
And if you have a look on the beginnig of this thread you´ll see a fax from Rolex Cologne
where they confirm that the 168000 was sold with both kind of dials.Gruß, Hannes

Your question has been asked many times on various duscussion boards and has never been answered clearly ... but the "official" letter from Rolex Hannes posted says that it is possible for the 168000 to have either one of these dials ...Harald
