With a very rare ’225’ golden bezel...

There is nothing more exciting to many collectors as a rare Rolex Daytona. Today we are offering a rare and under-the-radar version of the hugely popular so-called Zenith Daytonas.

This two-tone reference 16523 houses a Mk2 Four-Liner dial that appeared in watches for a short period at the end of 1988 and early 1989. The dial is in perfect condition and has traits such as the inverted-six, cherry Daytona text and tritium lume. As well as having a special dial, this watch also has the correct Mk2 bezel, known as the ‘225’ bezel. This configuration is correct and highly sought after. The case remains in really great condition with strong lugs and crown guards.

As if this wasn’t a great enough catch, the watch comes with its original punched papers stating that the watch was sold in the UK in 1990. The original solid link Oyster bracelet, ref 78363, is in good condition with a clasp stamped ‘M 3’ and reference 403 endlinks. The watch houses a Calibre 4030, based on the legendary Zenith El-Primero, movement that has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
