Weiss jemand welches Kaliber in der EXII aus der Z Serie eingebaut ist .
Mir ist bekannt das in den letzten Serien die 3186 drin ist ,aber seit welcher Serie genau ?

Hallo triplejoe,

In der Z-Serie wurde in jedem Fall das 3185 verbaut, wie auch in der 16710. Das 3186 gab es nach meinem Wissen erst ab der V-Serie.

Hallo, ich hab ne V serie hier mit Scheckkartenzerti - würde mich auch interssieren ob da ein 3186 drinnen ist ..

aber dafür müsste ich die Uhr ja aufmachen lassen und die ist noch komplett verklebt und unbenutzt ..

V-Serie KANN das 3186 haben, MUSS aber nicht.
Da hilf leider nur aufmachen für die endgültige Gewissheit.

I have to reply in English ... sorry ... my German skills fails me when I want to elaborate on my replies.

Early 2008 I bought myself an Explorer II (M0-serial) from one of my local Rolex ADs. I spoke with one of the Rolex trained watchmakers that I have come to know, and who have helped me on several occasions. He told me that he had been to Geneva for training on the 3186, and that the 3185 went out of production in April 2007. So eventhough there might still be 3185s in stock, the likelyhood that the following production series have it must be considered very low: M, V, G and random serial.

Usually it takes a couple of months from production until the watches are in the store, and since 2007 was Z-serials, it might be that some late Z-serials have caliber 3186.

But: Since it is known that the serial number is not neccesarily indicating actual production one can not be 100% sure, but since it is now three years since the (as I was told) end of production of the 3185 it is reasonable that M, V, G and random all have caliber 3186.

Lastly there is a noticable difference in the number of revolutions the hour hand do when you compare a 3185 with a 3186. I do not remember the exact number of jumps the hand do, but I have tested it myself, on both calibers.

Da muss man wirklich nichts aufmachen, der berühmte Wackeltest ( sieh dort in der Suche, erklärt im Video auf Youtube ) ist wirklich eindeutig. Darauf spielt wohl auch unser englisch schreibender Freund an.

Ich habe jetzt mal den Wackeltest ausprobiert und auch mal überprüft, wieviel Sprünge der Stundenzeiger macht bei einer Umdrehung der Krone.

Ergebniss: MInutenzeiger wackelt minimal (wie bei meiner 116710) Stundenzeiger bleibt unbeindruckt stehen. Pro Kronenumdrehung macht der Stundenzeiger meist 8 Srünge.

Nunja, das sind ja alles nur Indizien ...
