If Rolex gets any money back in '11 from "Madoff" rumoured
debacle, they imho should invest it all in buying Panerai!
Perfect signal to show they care about their heritage, buy it
and use it next to Tudor to make a decent modern collection
that is inspired on old important details of their history....

When you see how collectors have changed from grey over there years
to more 'relaxed' types, making the market much wider and deeper, more
watch passion started with Paneristi and by meeting and greeting they
took a part of the first revival of vintage watches in general. Now vintage
is becoming a lifestyle, not a mode or hype but a tool to go back to your
original roots ans shows that carefully to your modern costumers, that's why
detail is so important.

The more odd it to me that Panerai has become a succesfull toolwatch company
by it's own now, not beeing part of Rolex. Funny, but wasn't Rolex the watch
company delivering at first all parts for a Panerai watch except the dial?
I mean, looking back in history, why didn't they bought it much earlier??
So, what do you think Rolex should do in 2011, except bringing out a orange
hand new Explorer II at Basel show wink.gif

Besides that, what you think will be hot in 2011, Day Dates and old
Oyster Chrono's ?? Provenace and Detail in general? Auction or Privat Sale?...
