Planning on making any additions to your collection in 2008? If so, which models?
Planning on getting a pepsi GMT 1675 matte dial and maybe a Sub 5513 w/t matte dial. Sold my Sub 5513 to an Englishman a while ago and regret it too much.
John, any plans on your end?

1016 and around 10 Rolex-Pocketwatches.
May be a 5500 Ex1 with papers.
But I hope it will be a year of more sales than aquisitions ;)
Bye
Marko
I'm really, really hoping to stand pat in 2008. Of course, I didn't plan on buying the 1680 I picked up, so it's hard to say...
My guess is that Rolex will unveil something special at Basel in April that I will want....which might not even make its way to the US until late 2008 or 2009. Of course, if the model they unveil follows the patter of the last few years, it will be all gold first, two tone the following, and finally a stainless version. I doubt I'll want an all gold verstion of whatever they unveil.
I will say I've been toying with the idea of buying a Daytona with the parachrome blue mainspring and the "RolexRolexRolex" inner bezel engraving....but I'd likely sell my current F series Daytona in that process so it would be an even swap.
But yea...I'm very happy with my current collection.

Will save my money for the coming Explorers (hopefully).
But nevertheless ordered a black Milgauss. Perhaps it will smile at me when it is at my wrist.
No other Rolex projects planned so far.
I am dreaming of an old Daytona; but still don´t know enough about these watches. ;(
I hope to get the new Sub if there will be a new model.
I´m done with the vintage and plexi era.
Let´s wait till April and see what Basel brings........ :supercool:
Hope to find the €'s for a 1680, but also curious to see what baselworld will bring next year!
I want a 5513 and a black dial daytona !!!
So please help me to find a good 5513...
Maybe a 1680 will be the best compromise...
(But i want all rolex, is it normal ??)
After 16600 and 16660 a 1665 would be the next step on my trip back to the past. But I didn't see it live yet, so this is the first step: Hold the watch in my hands and decide wether I should start to save the money or not. :grb:

I'll remind you some day :DZitat:

1680 or 1665 comex
I'll confess to a keen interest in Bazel this year. For anything modern that will be the deciding factor. ;)
1. Jean-Claude Killy (any)
2. Star-dial Oyster Moonphase (ref. 6062)
3. Tiger-stripe Prince Brancard (ref. 971)
4. Silver Prince Brancard (ref. 971)
5. Pink gold & steel Viceroy with California dial and Mercedes hands (any)
And in 2010, my new Patek (shh!).
Now if someone could just lend me a quarter mill, I will head down to London and make a start on my shopping list...
:D
Hmmm, some more 1680´s and Tudor MC´s.....one more MC is coming next week :jump:
A nice Big Crown is in mind as well....
I hope I get a Milgauss GV in 2008.
Bye
Marcel
I might pick up one of these new mid-size Datejust for my wife. One with a black dial, to complement the silver dial Air King 15000 I got her 2 years ago. Very classy and feminine, the polished case and central link of the bracelet fit this model really well.
As for myself, I don't think I will purchase anything from Rolex in 2008, unless they come up with something really spectacular, like a new Explorer, or Explorer II. Like Hannes, I'm done with vintage models. So at some stage, in the future, I'd like a 16610 LV but I'm in no hurry, especially since I just got that for Christmas:

John, I know you don't like the hands on this watch, but I can guarantee you that they are more legible than anything Rolex has ever produced, especially in the dark.
Otherwise, to summarize my impressions of the watch: 90% plus of the quality of a Rolex Sub at 40% of the price. Quite outstanding.

Maby you will sell me one of your Milsubs in 2008,... and i have my dreamwatch for 2008 and you are one step towards London... :D
Thanks,
Bernhard
First of all, i want to wish you the very best for 2008,... may all your Rolex- and other dreams come true!!!!
Ending the Year of 2007 and thinking of 2008 i arrived in a kind of twilightzone,...
One fantastic year,... with a lot great watches,...
But towards the end of the year,... and getting deeper into Rolex, i'm beginning to move towards the high-end market of Rolex.
With a couple of Daytona's, DRSD and the 6262PN at the Munich fair.
Now starts my dilemma.... i would like to share.... What next in 2008?????
To be true i love the watches i have,.... but i still dream of a couple of watches...
I want to get >one< of these next year.
> 6538 Bigcrown
> 5513 Milsub (5517 i don't dare to dream of any more)
> Comex plexi
I guess the Milsub is my favorite..... the history, the stories of these watches...!!! Wooowww just so cool, so beautiful.
So i guess,... i will sell a couple of my others and go for gold next year.... ;)
Best to you!
I just refrain: Have a Happy New Year! :dr:
Additions for '08? Definitely.
I'm struggling with myself wether to do it or not:
A new steel DateJust with that great elegant "silver-black-/roulette"-dial.
That very watch is blowing my mind.... :gut:
Hm... :grb: .will see what rolex roll out in Bazel.
perhaps a Milgauss.
.
I have no plans for 2008 because I upgraded my YG Day-Date 118208 from 2002 to the ultimate Rolex the Day-Date in Platinum 118206 with the Ice blue roman deal
It is an incredible watch, really understated
You can feel it is more heavy the YG. The DD PT weight around 225 gram and the YG around 170 gram depending of how many links you have on your bracelet
The new concealed claps on my new Day-Date is more solid a the feeling is that it is more secure than the old one
Regards
Lars
Wow...in many respects, you have the ultimate Rolex. :dr:Zitat:

How do I post pictures?

Lars
Lars, just load your picture up to e.g. imageshack.us (free), the host will generate a code which to copy and paste (completely, with all brackets) into the dialogue field where you post comments.
Please mind that you use .jpg or any other common picture format and don't let the pics be too big.
Hope this helps... =)
I still wonder, whether a 116710 will get me or not... ;)
Tanks for the help
Here is some fotos
Hope you like them?

Lars - very nice photos! Please try to keep them no larger than 800x600 and under 250k in file size. Thanks! :dr:
i plan to buy the 116400gv. but if the time comes one of my than 4 watches must leave me=(
i really don´t know of holding the 116710 or the 116400gv....?
definetly the 16700 stays because it´my first rolex model and i will not sell the 116520 until i don`t have a new one....
i just sold one of my two 14060M.
maybe the second one will have to go this summer since the new GMT just got my attention.
but we will see...
cheers!
rene
I feel ready for something in gold. Looking forward to buy DD soon. Think I'm going for one form the eighties.
Christian - models from that era are mighty tempting. Single quicks can be had for about a third or less of the price of a brand new one at retail. 8oZitat:

I had already an active 2008, a 16700 that came and left already. It will go for a good purpose to help children in need.
A Sub 168000 and a 5513 joined me in January. Now I am thinking to keep the 5513 for sure, its from my birthyear, but let the 168000 go and then I may go for my first brandnew Rolex, but I am undecided, most likely though a 116710, probably later in 2008. Also thinking about the green glass Milgauss, but I guess it is impossible to get right now, isn't it? Or is it just hype? I spoke to an authorized jeweler here in Chicago, and they told me that they can get me one if I buy a few other Rolexes before. Huhhh...
Still waiting for my 116400 GV.
And who knows what Basel brings...
