Help with OP Date dial
I have an OP Date from 1970 with a dial that I do not see on any other Date models that I have seen.
My dial has minutes markers that are as long as the hour makers. Typical they are way shorter. See picture below.
Anyone who can help me to understand if it is a dial that was only used in a short period or what?

Thanks in advance.

Dear Sadolin,
the dials with long minute-indices were available for the Date and the Oyster Perpetual only in the seventies. Following please find two scans of a Rolex-Catalogue dated 1975 from my archive, showing a Date 1501/0 with a blue “long minute-indices”-dial and an Oyster Perpetual 1005/3 with a brown one:

As always with Rolex, the production numbers are not known to us, but those dials are not seen very often.
Best Regards
Matthias
