Rolex Sub Date dials - "swiss made"

Hi Friends,

A friend of mine and I compared our Rolex Submariner 16610 yesterday.

He has a P-series and I have a K-series - so just about a 1½ year between them.

We took a picture of them with the mobile phone so quality isn't that good:

The dials are different. The one to the left has a lot bigger font than the one to the right. Both are of course original.

I know Rolex changed dials a lot - but not to the "Swiss Made" dials. Anyone who can comment on this? Are both still used etc?

Sure they did.

Don't worry. I have the same "problem". Font on the left ist bigger than on right one. Both '99 A-Series:

I guess the the amount of paint varies.

It's hard to see on the pictures shown :D ... is it a differentfont or is it just the "thickness" of the print ... it may very well be the same font and print style but just the use of a new printing pad ...
