Waterproof
Hi all,
I made a photo to show you the similarity between the early 32 mm Oyster ref. 678 waterproof canal Rolex from 1934 sold by Coombes Company Ltd. London & Rangoon and the Panerai 3646 with military history....

& After i've seen Ed's scan of these 2 german kampfswimmer in Bernhards thread i always think of my vintage Panerai. The big guy on the right was Heinz Brettschneider and his Panerai 3646 i have since some years in the collection. I bought it from the grandson of a dutch officer who fought at Nimegen, Operation Market Garden were he probably got it from Mr. Brettschneider who also has fought exact there with his team and as only living soldier from that team came back from the war and finnaly was the founder / trainer for many years of the east german special force / kampfswimmer unit....
Here we see the whole scan of Mr. Brettschneiders team..

Dieter,... it's so beautiful... i'm in love!!!!
As on your's Philipp,... woooooow... what great, you found the image of the diver.
When you read some of the stories in the Panerai book... it's unbelivable what these guy's must have been through. As all people in this time...
History... pure history!
Enjoy
