Athen, oder auch: Eine Säule kommt selten allein...
Uns hat es letzte Woche ins schoene Griechenland verschlagen,
da ein Libanesischer Freund mit Kanadischen Pass, der in Kuwait lebt, zu seiner Hochzeit eingeladen hat... Klingt exotisch? Ja, das war die komplette Feier in der Tat :dr:
Ausserdem war ich gespannt auf Athen, nachdem ich erst einmal vor sehr lange Zeit fuer einen halben Tag da war. Endlich mal Zeit zumindest ein wenig die monumentalen Bauwerke vergangener Tage anzuschauen. Aber auch ein wenig in Land und Leute einzutauchen, und die Stimmung spueren, denn im Grunde lesen wir Deutschen ja sonst immer nur sehr viel negatives ueber Griechenland in diversen Deutschen Zeitungen und Magazinen.
Von Armut war jedenfalls im Hotel, in dem wir untergebracht waren, keine Spur. Die ganze Zeit shipperte immer mal wieder eine Yacht durch die Bucht.

Am Anreiseabend ging die Hochzeitsfeier mit einem grossen Welcome Dinner fuer die 270 Gaeste los, leider ohne Bilder, da ich die Kamera zu Hause gelassen habe, und das iphone schlapp machte.
Aber schon krass, fuer eine normale Deutsche Hochzeit waere das schon eine sehr aufwendige Hochzeitsfeier gewesen, und nicht nur das Welcome Dinner :grb:
Am Tag 2 stand dann „Late Lunch“ in einem Beach Restaurant an. Da das jedoch erst um 18 Uhr losging, ging es zur Staerkung Mittags nach Athen ins Grande Bretagne Hotel, wo zufaellig Schweizer Freunde zu Besuch waren. Der Greek Burger mit speziell gewuerztem Patty war klasse. Und die Teller puffig aber geil :D

Aus late Lunch wurde natuerlich eine bis tief in die Nacht gehende Party, so dass es am Tag der eigentlich Hochzeit erstmal auspannen am Pool hies.

Apropo Tequila: Ich kenne den Einladenden von meinem MBA Programm. Er hat alle Freunde eingeladen, so dass wir eine ziemlich internationale Truppe dort waren. Und die Mexikaner brachten dann auch gleich eine Auswahl an Flaschen mit, falls auf der Hochzeit mal der Alkohol ausgehen sollte :ka:

Puenktlich um 19 Uhr ging es dann auf die grosse Terrasse zur Feier...
Wie ich finde sehr schoen dekoriert. Normale Tische fuer die aeltere Generation, Lounge Moebel fuer die jungen Leute, die nachher feiern wollen..

Braut und Braeutigam kamen danach mit grossem Tamtam durch verschiedene Seiten rein, was direkt eine wilde Tanzerei auf der Tanflaeche zur Folge hatte..

Habe so einer Feier noch nicht beigewohnt, absolut anders als unsere Hochzeiten. Aber grosse klasse! :dr:

Auch diese Party ging bis tief in den Morgen, so dass wir erst Mittags zur Sightseeing Tour nach Athen aufgebrochen Sind. War aber nicht schlimm, da das Wetter noch „optimierungsfaehig“ war..
Das tat dem ganzen aber keinen Abbruch. Wir hatten einen klasse Fahrer, der uns sowohl die Historie und Kultur, aber auch viele Tagespolitsche Dinge erklaerte..

Der Fahrer erklaerte uns lebhaft welcher jeweilige Sponsor die einzelnen Bauwerke der Stadt geschenkt hat.. Das Thema, ob diese Sponsoren denn brave Steuerzahler waren haben ich besser umschifft ;)

So ging dann ein kurzer & sehr erlebnisreicher Trip nach Athen zu Ende. Mit vielen neuen Eindruecken, einigen Ideen fuer unsere eigene Hochzeit, und der Erkenntnis dass uns Athen nicht zum letzten Mal gesehen hat.
