_____________The 2009 NYC GTG Report___ DAY 2 _______(pre-GTG activities)___________

FRIDAY - May 15th 2009

Day 2 started relatively early. Janos and I had a meeting with folks at Henri Stern Watch Agency (Patek USA) at 10:30 AM
In one word - this visit was 'AMAZING" and I will dedicate a separate thread with many pictures dedicated to this event.
In short - we were give a grand tour of 'every office' and repair room of HSWA by their VP of sales - Mr. Kevin Unger.
After a wonderful lunch to which we were treated by HSWA in a fine Manhattan steakhouse, I was also fortunate to meet
the PP USA president, then later hold in my hands a VERY rare watch with the MSRP of about $1.100,000 ......and was also
able to play with on try on almost all new models introduced in Basel 2009. What a day for a Patek aficionado like me !!
But as I said...more about this wonderful visit later in a special report coming up a few days later.

After the HSWA visit it was time to meet with our friends who were here for the main event - the SAT GTG.
We met in mid-town Manhattan and before we went back to the hotel we visited a few nice watch stores. As you can see, there is
a nice little swimming pool on top of our hotel and after hanging in the hotel lobby bar it was a nice change of scenery.

Later in the day I went with my friend Kevin and Dan from BALL watch to have a few beverages in sports bars surrounding
the new Yankee Stadium just to soak up the atmosphere. We were also considering to get some tickets, but after nothing
reasonable was popping-up, we decided to rejoin the WIS group at the hotel and party some more locally. As far as I remember,
we did not stay up too late on FRI as the next day we had a big day ahead of us: Food Festival I& visit of Cartier boutique
with museum type exhibition in the morning and then the GTG itself in the afternoon.
Tomorrow I will continue with the 'Day 3 - and the actual GTG report.

....and in case you think this is fun & would like to join us next time - we will have a GTG #7 in Tampa this fall, (most likely Nov 7th 2009) and will be in NYC again the weekend after Mother's Day next year - May 15th 2010 ! MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND YOUR MS OUTLOOK NOW !!
