Hi all,

What do you guys think the crisis will lead to in terms of watches? Will vintage prices drop? Or will it hardly affect the used market.

I at least have my new purchase in ;), only it's not a Rolex this time, but a Pam 112.

Regards,
Victor

Prices will drop, brands will vanish, the grey market will flourish.

I noticed that prices for vintage Rolexes have dropped and it takes more time to sell as well as new greymarket prices have dropped for watches such as the Daytona and the Deepsea. Over time we will most likely recover but who knows, my glass bowl is clowded right now... just my two cents for what it's worth...

My opinion is, that the watch-manufactures dosnīt get a new quartz-crisis like in the 70th. :grb:

cheers, Tom.

It's the same as with stocks now: if you have cash on hand, buy. Best time to add to your collection and actually make money on the long run (you'll get a DD right now at only about double the metal value...even impressed my wife :D).

Right now, stocks, watches, houses, everything is about at an alltime low in the US. Shame is that only few have cash to buy. Those who do, will make a killing in the longterm, but in the shortterm nobody can tell where we are going, up or down.

Don't tell me. Whenever you buy stocks, it's too early, whenever you sell, it's too early too :ka: That's easier with watches :dr:

so, the prices are dropping, -or, in other words-
Cash gets rare and gains against hardware.
