Greetings Rolex Fans,

This just in - I have confirmation through official channels that the original Sea-Dweller will be discontinued as of June 2008.

I think the only question is, how long before the values of existing models being to rise?

Long live the Sea-Dweller....we hardly knew ye....

I love mine, so I will never sell it (only instead a 1665 DR of course ...)

I thought that this was confirmed through James Dowling during Baselworld already? :grb:

Anyway, I am convinced that the Deepsea will be a worthy successor to the Seadweller. Itīs certainly a great watch and people will go crazy after it as soon as it hits the stores!

Best-
Nico

these won't rise in price. there are literally millions of them out there, up through the latest release (Z, M series). by the time the price on this model rises, we will all be 6 ft under :D

Shark, are you celebrating your 89th birthday next week?

Of course they won't go up steeply but, don't forget that the number of collectors is constantly rising too. And, considering the amount of Submariners and GMTs out there, the Sea Dweller can be deemed a rare jewel :D.

Shark - there aren't millions. The Sea-Dweller is a lower production piece, relative to the other sport watches. Rolex produces less than a million watches a year. I'd be surprised if the SD production on any given year was 50,000.
