My first feeling is to keep my 16600, and wait for a 1665, and not to buy the new DSSD.

So what will you do ?

DEEPSEA is definitely on my want list!

I won't buy it, because i don't have the money ;)
It's quite expensive, somehow ugly but has a charm of it's own. But if you buy it now you have the chance of owning a watch of the first series. This might become interesting in 30-50 years :D

I have to see a watch (not only fotos), before I can make a decision.
Kind regards

As much as there is no such thing as a free lunch, I do not believe there is an exit watch... it keeps on going on and on... and then you find your next exit watch, and after that you find another exit watch... huhhh :jump: :jump: :jump:

I think i will take it. But where to buy, the price seems to differ a lot.

1665 is of course a very nice watch, but maybe you should not compare two very different matters.

But I must confess that with the domed cristal the ds has a slightly touch of a 1665.

I like it a lot and will decide when I get to try it on.

No thanks. I might like it in a while but it would take quite a bit of getting used to.

I sold my 40mm Master Control because it looked too big on my wrist.

But you know how it goes. Someone buys it and lets me try it. Iīll start liking it. Eventually, I look through all the pictures again. Next thing I do is try it on again at the AD. Iīll start thinking about where to get the money to be able to afford it. Another GTG, another try on the wrist. By then Iīll have the money and Iīll go buy it ;)

In my eyes, the DEEPSEA represents the new flagship in the Rolex "Professional" colllection. It defines what Rolex is capable of doing in the field of waterproof watch casings.

I am very impressed by the DEEPSEA. However, I do not intend to by one of them. This watch is too big and too heavy for my purposes.

Volker - I'm with you. I can't see myself buying a watch this big when I wear a suit daily, but I will have to try it on first.

Thanks Wum, itīs James Dowlingīs watch. I wore it at the Timezone GTG on Friday =)

Edit: Thatīs why itīs also in the background in the first pic (DSSD wristshot). When James tried the DSSD, he put away his cushion oyster.

I'm planning to buy one. The decision will be made the moment that I see it on my wrist.

The DS is an exceptional timepiece with a great technical look :gut:

I like the DS but I think, I will skip it and save the money for a watch which I like better...

A must have for me!!

Edmundo

No.

On the one hand the DS will be very expensive (I can remember times when SDs could be bought for 3.700 Euro brand new at an AD. And that is not long ago.) and on the other hand I have to wear her by myself at the AD to get an feeling if that could be the right watch or not.

I would never buy a watch only because of a photo. And I am not willing to pay more than the regular price - at least not for a Sea-Dweller. The daytona is the only watch I would pay more than the regular price.

I ordered it the day it was presented at the Baselworld-Show becuase from the first pictures I really like this watch.
If I stop by the AD to take a look at the watch in person I will decide if I take it or if I buy a new GMTc. I donīt see the point of buying a watch without trying it on first - maybe it will look redicilous on my wrist - who knows?

But I think I will take it :D

I would not buy it on the Grey Market at a higher asking price though

No, I don't think so. I don't like all the text on the dial. Besides I own a big watch (Panerai Pam 88, wich I am planning to sell because of it's size). What I like about Rolex is the modest size of 40mm. I am afraid it won't wear as comfartable as a regular sub or sd.

Victor
