For those who are truly interested to see the wealth of pictures that Mr. Butros took, I can just recommend to go to Timezone to the vintage Rolex section and take a look... it is impressive!

Is anyone attending the New York auction this weekend?

I could not help it but generated a huge PDF file containing all the photographs and descriptions of the linked page. 247 pages. For future reference. Better than having a 247 page catalogue.

If I were a rich man... dadadada...

The first part of the auction ended, and I looked around what kind of prices were accomplished. I think we are reaching the zenith in Rolex Vintage prices, and it did not go much higher if at all. Saw that an excellent condition explorer 16550 with cream dial sold for less than 10000 Dollars, which is much lower compared to what people are trying to command on ebay and other places.

A red sub sold for 30000 Swiss Franks, pretty impressive.

I am sure it will be interesting to see the results of tomorrow's auction, and also, I have not checked all prices today, so I am sure some watches went much higher than anticipated.

Just my two cents for now...

You're talking about the standard "Geneva, 15 & 16 March 2008
Important Collectors' Wristwatches, Pocket Watches & Clocks"-auction?

Will be interesting to see if the price level in April reaches new highs - the auction seems to be an attempt for a hype like the Mondani-auction was ...

Yes, I was talking about the Geneva auction right now. The New York auction is highly anticipated, so I am sure we will see some new records in April.
