Thought it was about time I said 'hello' after lurking around for a while!

I'm Richard - an Englishman now living in Sydney - and am addicted to 60s/70s sports Rolexes ;)

Some of you may know me from vintagerolexforum, where occasionally I chip in with the odd comment, post some happy-snaps, and buy and sell a bit too

I've got a self-imposed 'Three Watch Rule', and being a child from 1970 I've restricted myself to watches 'born' in that year. So in chronological order can I introduce you to:

1970 (2.9m serial - I-70 caseback) 1680 Red Submariner:

1970 (3.0m serial - III-70 caseback) 5513 Submariner

http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n308/ozrolex/P1000470.jpg

And now for the 'black sheep' of the family! I've always wanted a 1970 DRSD, but when this was offered to me, it was just too good to refuse :dr:

1977 (5.0m serial) 1665 Double Red Sea Dweller

http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n308/ozrolex/IMGP2984.jpg

http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n308/ozrolex/P1010610.jpg

There's been a few come and go too:

http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n308/ozrolex/My79281.jpg

But I'm very happy with my little collection:

http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n308/ozrolex/P1010605.jpg

Does it count as breaking my 'Three Watch Rule' if I buy a modern Rolex?? The new ceramic s/s GMT is stunning and is calling to me like a siren song... and if the rumours hold any truth, a new Sea Dweller with domed crystal and ceramic bezel will star at Basel. Now THAT'S worth breaking the rules for! :D

See you around guys

Cheers

Richard

Welcome to R-L-X Richard! Here's a recent shot of my own 1970 Red Sub (also my birth year) - it's the one on the right:
