There's just something about this reference. The first to have a date feature and that wonderfull crystal. :gut:

Whether RED or WHITE, the 1680 is such a classic watch! Please share what you have. :jump:

Thanks for the great scans, especially the closeup of the dial lettering. :gut: :gut: I'm wondering how many variations of dial lettering one will find on the 1680's: fonts, height of letters, thickness of letters, whether the crosses in the "t's" and "f's" of the depth rating are always offset, as in your photo, or are found to also line up...etc. :rolleyes:

I know there are many variations of this sort for Submariners, is this also the case with 1680's? :grb:

The short answer is, A LOT of variations! 8o :grb:

There are dials where the Meters are printed before the Ft. and dials with that reversed...all sorts of other slight variations in fonts and styles. I have no idea how many different variatons there are.
