My Rolex library is pretty complete....I don't have the latest update to the Dowling and Hess book, but I do have Vol. I and II of the latest "Collecting Rolex" book series by Osvaldo Patrizi. :supercool: Unfortunately, it is hideously expensive. 8o

In the photo below, you can see it the two volume compilation on the right, and I also pulled out a couple of other favorites including the Vintage Rolex Sports Model book I have, and the green book which is my newest book all about the Daytona.

Wow ....do you speak/read Japanese? I have ordered a couple of those books/magazines off the 'bay....fun pictures to look at but not much to read due to the language barrier. :grb:

My girlfriend learns Japan, but she´s no help yet :D
No, the pics are great, and I like the Japanese for their collectors perfectionism!

Well, I do have to admit I've had fun looking at the couple that I've gotten. What are the best/your favorite Japanese books/magazines you have? Any you'd recommend?

Libraries for Rolex mostly look nearly the same. What about your archives?

Here´s mine for Rolex:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/MatthiasRBO/watches/RolexArchiv.jpg

And for Omega:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/MatthiasRBO/watches/OmegaArchiv.jpg

And Breitling:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/MatthiasRBO/watches/BreitlingArchiv.jpg

And for other watches:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/MatthiasRBO/watches/SonstigeArchiv.jpg

The leaflets were collected over the last 30 years and were sourced 90 % from ADs and the watch-companies themselves.

Please excuse the chaotic look of my archives. The pictures where taken during a reorganisation, today my archives are more systematic.

Regards
Matthias

I guess "better" is the wrong word for it, every issue has it´s charme
It also depends on your preferences

I don't have the latest update to the Dowling and Hess book,

Hi guys,

can anyone tell me what the latest edition of Dowling/Hess is? Is third the newest or is there already a 4th edition?

I couldn´t even find it on JD´s homepage...

Thanks-
Nico

Oh yeah, guess what I´ll get myself for christmas ;)

That is correct - but according to James himself, no a whole lot has changed in this new eddition....I have the second, but might wait until a cheap used copy of the third comes up.

Thanks in advance.

I've actually seen it quite favorably priced on Amazon.

Hi Oliver,

I did order from Amazon Germany but it said that it was the last one ("1 in stock" or something). Maybe for the next orders they have to get it from the US...

By the way, even though I paid a premium for faster shipping (ordered on Thursday, supposed to be here on Friday), it hasn´t arrived yet... :(

Merry christmas-
Nico

Hi Nico,

thanks for the answer. Best would be to contact amazon, so you get your premium fee back.
So I wait if they´ll get it again.

Happy christmas
Oliver

Hey guys,

the Dowling book did arrive in time on the 24th so I am not going to complain with Amazon - BTW they sent it the same day and it was the postal service who took so long.

Here´s what I got for Christmas:

http://www.hoene.de/random/books.jpg

The Dowling/Hess book was my gift to myself, I got the Imai book from my dad and the Cult watches from my brother. I guess they finally figured out what I am into ;)

Well, now I have some reading to do.

Take care-
Nico
