Dear Rolex-Fans,
today I will try (as an exception only) a fotostory, which normally is not my favorite job. But the following pictures of a remarkable state visit may be of interest.

The president of the Republic Aurum on a state visit in Ferrum.

The prime minister of Ferrum Count* Cosmo and his foreign minister Date-Just give the aurum president a warm welcome.

The aurum foreign minister Count* Turno, which mother was born in Ferrum, will also participate in the bilateral summit talks.

The state limousines fleet of Ferrum consists of well maintained historic german cars. Due to the todays state visit some of them were driven by prominent inhabitants of Ferrum as an honour to the aurum president.

The famous ferrum mountaineer Freccione with a Mercedes 300 SE:

The worldwide renown globe-trotter and pilot Captain G. M. Tee with an Opel Captain**:

*”Count” means in german: „Graf“

**The Opel Captain was in the 50ies and 60ies the most serious rival of the Mercedes S-class in Germany.

No big stories really, I've owned 6 of them in black, silver, white and blue.
Bought this last one in Sweden and had it shipped here... ;)

Hi Leo,
that is really a wonderful 600, especially in that colour, which I´ve never seen on a 600. Isn´t it code 906 “greyblue”? The colour takes the state limousine touch off and makes the 600 look more “sportive”.

BTW: The dream car of my youth was a 450 SEL 6.9 in greyblue with blue velours inside:

Following a very common and typical 70ies-combination in Germany with the notorious “mimosa yellow”:

Enjoy your 600!

:verneig: 600 :verneig:

What a GREAT car! I once sat in one and it was even more impressive then I expected it to be. In my humble opinion, it is one of the best Mercedes made (along with the W116, W123, R107, W126, W140....well they made a lot of great cars actually :D )

But let's not forget the subject of the topic ;) : nice idea and pics, thanks for sharing :gut:
