You know, I saw this same information in the booklet which came with my 1680. I notice when I press down on the bezel of mine, it "clicks" but the movement of the bezel is not restricted or "locked." Am I doing something wrong?

Mines ''lockes'' when I let go, if I then try to turn the bezel with my thumb for example it won't turn.

There is a spring below the bezel that "locks" the bezel in the normal position by pressing it to the guidance. By pressing it down you reduce the friction between the bezel and the guidance and it will move easily. There is no click-sound or something like that because it is a disc spring and not a spring bar.
