An event in Hawaii like no other, down 1,000 metres

With its stunning caves and crystal-clear water, there are but a few dive sites in the world as magical as the Cathedrals of Lana'i (coordinates 20 degrees 45 minutes North, 157 degrees 07 minutes West).

Part of the Hawaiian archipelego and located beyond Hulop's Bay, this spot was chosen by experts as the backdrop to perform one of the toughest feats in high-watchmaking - to test Jaeger-LeCoultre's new Master Compressor Diving collection at 1,000 metres. And no one was disappointed.

On June 14 at exactly 10:09am local time, the new Master Compressor Diving GMT, case number 2461510, successfully emerged after being taken down 1,080 metres below sea-level, enduring underwater pressure exceeding 100kg per cm2 - far beyond expectations, and where no man can go.

The watchmakers of Jaeger-LeCoultre, the specialists at Total Marine Technology (TMT) and the world's top journalists followed this 30-minute event aboard American Islander Honolulu by live camera feed placed on the shoulders of JAEGER-LECOULTRE 1, the special-purpose robot designed and built by TMT.

Stay tuned for the next dive adventures of JAEGER-LECOULTRE 1...
