Archiv verlassen und diese Seite im Standarddesign anzeigen : New Rolex Patent, for the Yachtmaster II??
Hi,
I already posted this link to a patent in the German part of this forum. I have the suspicion that this is the patent that covers the mechanism for the new Yachtmaster II. However, my French is not the best. What do you think?

Hi Simon,
yes you are right, that is the patent for the new Yachtmaster II. Many thanks for the link.
The date of registration was already the 21st October 2005, but the the patent was only publicated when the Basel Fair 2007 was over and the new Yachtmaster II was presented to the public (date of patent publication: 25th April 2007).
The figures No. 8-10 show the function of the bezel in conjunction with the pushers for programming the countdown time. It can be seen, that there is no direct connection between the bezel and the movement inside the watchcase. In 90° turned position (character “Yachtmaster II” at 3 o´clock) the bezel has the function to arrest the lower pusher in pressed position by an integrated spring-operated pin and to lock the upper pusher. With the bezel in returned position (character “Yachtmaster II” at 6 o´clock) both pushers can be operated in normal manner, as the spring-operated pin for the lower pusher rests then at 7 o´clock and the locking for the upper pusher at 5 o´clock.
Regards
Matthias
Do you know if there is a translation available in English or German?
Hi Elmar,
no corresponding German or English applications have been published yet.
However, when you look at the filing strategy in other more recent Rolex applications, you can see that they will most likely file in China, Japan and the US. National phases in Europe will most likely be Germany and France. I guess we just have to wait a little longer for more "understandable" versions.
Best,
Simon
