Wir waren wieder mal auf unserer Insel... Die wunderschöne Sonneninsel Rhodos.
Da wir diesmal nicht alleine waren und unsere Begleiter die Insel noch nicht kannten sind wir die wichtigsten Punkte abgefahren und ich nutzte dies um wieder mal ein paar Bilder zu machen :dr:

Teil 1 :

Kalithea - Die einst im Krieg zerstörte Thermenanlage wurde über sehr lange Zeit renoviert und schlussendlich 2007 wieder eröffnet. Bis heute wird immer wieder gebaut, renoviert und verschönert. Einwunderbarer Ort um zu entspannen und die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Geprägt von einem Wundervollen Park, den atemberaubenden Thermenanlagen und nicht zu vergessen den wunderschönen Blick auf das Meer.

Teil 2:

Lindos - Die weiße Stadt -> Madonna, Sting und noch ein paar Stars sollen hier ein Haus haben... so sagt man.
Hier kann man sich mit dem Esel zur Akropolis hochtragen lassen :) Viele tun das und es ist nicht immer schön, weder für den Esel noch für den, der das sehen muss :D
Die kleinen Gassen, die Hitze staut sich hier immens. Wir waren gegen 9:30 Uhr da und es hatte um die 30 Grad. Unser Vorteil, es war noch am Vormittag und noch nicht August. Wobei wir gestern (28.06) auch schon 39 Grad im Schatten hatten!!! *schwitz*

Nach Lindos sind weiter nach Prasonisi gefahren und haben in Genadi einen Stop eingelegt um eine Kleinigkeit zu essen... Wir hatten eine wundervolle Taverne gefunden mit schönem Blick und sehr gutem Essen.

Prasonisi - Der Surferhotspot auf der Insel. Man fährt ewigkeiten durch militärisches Sperrgebiet, man hat fast das Gefühl hier könnte der nächste James Bond gedreht werden und hier wäre dann die Basis des Bösewichts.
Plötzlich nach eine Kurve der Blick 8o Eine völlig andere Welt. Die Augen werden groß und die Freude steigt ins unermessliche.

Links das Mittelmeer und rechts die Ägäis. Die Sandbank ist nur im Sommer zugänglich da sie im Winter überflutet ist. Platz ohne Ende. Ein Paradies.

Es heißt, wenn man davon trinkt kommt man wieder auf die Insel - Vielleicht bleibt man aber auch für immer? :weg: :D

Der Eingang zum Tunnel, ich weiß nicht wie lange der in etwa ist, ich schätze gut 200m. Man kann da durch gehen, schmal, nieder, eng und das Wasser ist eiskalt. Sicht = 0 !!!

Hallo Steff, wunderschöne Bilder auch von unserer Trauminsel. Leider haben wir
es nach 10 Jahren hintereinander nicht die 3 Kilometer vom Hotel bis in die
Therme geschafft, leider. Aber dieses Jahr fahren wir mit guten Vorsätzen wieder
auf die Insel.

:gut:Fritz, dass Elysium ist Klasse und liegt nur einen Steinwurf von unserem Stammhotel, dem Palladium entfernt. Beide

Ich hab´meine Hütte in Afandou stehen. Nicht weit weg also... Forumstreffen? :D

Teil 4: Hl. Tsambika
Man sagt, dass Paare die sich Kinder wünschen -und manchmal keine bekommen können- hoch marschieren müssen und dort eine Kerze anzünden... Die Hl. Mutter Gottes Tsambika soll den Kindersegen wahr machen.
Daher sind in dieser Kapelle so viele Kinderpuppen zu sehen... auch die ganzen Bücher mit Kinderbildern und oft sehr schön geschriebenen Texten sollen der Hl. Tsambika Dank erweisen. Darum ist auch ein Bild von unserem Max da oben.

Vor ein paar Jahren wurde wieder renoviert. Wie jeder weiß wird dazu viel Sand benötigt. Daher haben sich die Verantwortlichen was geniales einfallen lassen. Der Sand wurde in Säcke gefüllt und unten am Parkplatz deponiert. Jeder der nun die Hl. Tsambika besuchte konnte nun einen Sack Sand mit hoch nehmen.

Ganz rechts, der kleine Teil eines Strandes, das ist Kolymbia Beach, dann kommt Afandou Beach (der längste Strand der Insel, mit 7km) und am Horizont ist dann Faliraki Beach zu sehen.

Tsambika Beach, der schönste Strand der Insel. Purer Sand und man kann sehr, sehr, sehr weit ins Meer gehen bevor es tiefer wird. Ideal für Kinder... Viel los, aber, wenn man ganz nach hinten durch geht hat man seine Ruhe. Da liegen dann zwar ein paar Nackte rum, muss aber nicht immer augenschädlich sein. =)

Sind die Kieselsteinböden für dort charakteristisch? Gibt's die da besonders viel zum Sammeln?

Ja, die Böden findet man überall! Ganze Bürgersteige sind mitdiesen gemacht. Teils auch ganz alte Geschäfte.
Wo die Steine genau herkommen weiß ich nicht, da muss ich mal fragen, interessiert mich auch.
Primär kann man die beim Steinhändler kaufen, aber wo der sie her hat...???

Hoffe ich komme heute noch zum nächsten Schwung, sonst morgen.

Finde ich interessant, mit den Kieseln, weil das fürs Ufer am Meer eher die Ausnahme ist. Sonst gibt's sowas immer dort, wo die Eiszeit Böden vor sich hergeschoben hat, siehe die Kiesgruben entlang von Flüssen, zum Beispiel. Und so etwas bildet sich ja meist über die Jahrhunderte als lokale Eigenart heraus. Bin gespannt, was Du herausfindest.

Gerhard, es hat einen geschichtlichen Hintergrund (da bin ich noch am recherchieren), alle Steine werden von Hand an den Stränden von Rhodos gesammelt. Es gibt leider kaum noch Leute die das können/machen.

Hier waren wir im Schmetterlingstal oder auf griechisch Petaloudes. Leider waren kaum Schmetterlinge da, leider für unsere Begleiter, ich wusste es, dieses Schauspiel lässt sich erst im August/September beobachten. Man muss sich vorstellen, dass so gut wie alle Baumstämme nicht mehr zu sehen, weil sie mit Schmetterlingen bedeckt sind.
Ihr werdet gleich einen Schmetterling sehen, dessen Farbe... Man muss genau schauen, dass man bemerkt, dass die Baume mit ihnen zugepflastert sind.

Manfred, der Pilot hat auf jeden Fall immer ein Glücksgefühl nach dem Start, weil er vorher nicht wusste ob es klappt :D

Dirk, Rhodos ist wirklich traumhaft und an das Leben da kann mich sich recht schnell gewöhnen. Morgens bin ich immer einkaufen gefahren, sind nur 2km zum nächsten Supermarkt und da fahre ich dann immer an unserem Strand entlang... kurz ins Meer hüpfen, raus, abtrocknen und weiter gehts. Eine Sache von 5 Minuten und man ist ein völlig anderer Mensch.

Bernd, September ist super. Nahezu perfekt! Perfektes Wetter, viele Touris sind wieder weg (Sommerferien gehen zu Ende). Es gibt frische Feigen vom Baum... Kann sein, dass ich im September auch nochmal da bin. Wenn Du Infos brauchst, wegen Auto mieten etc. -> PN :gut:

Wie sind denn diese Steine im Boden festgemacht? Ich hätte da immer Angst, dass beim Drübergehen welche rausgerissen werden.

Die werden einbetoniert! Sieh Dir das 3. Bild im Teil 1 an. Da erkennst Du die Betonschicht mit den eingezeichneten Mustern, danach werden die Steine verlegt, besser gesagt, in den Beton gedrückt.

Das ist ein Kunst die leider kaum noch welche beherrschen.

Ariane, lieber Herbst wie Frühjahr. Im Frühjahr kannst noch Gefahr laufen, dass Du ein paar Regentage abbekommst.
Wir haben zwar über 300 Sonnentage, die Regenzeit ist der Winter und ab und zu regnet es auch noch im Mai.
Auch das Meer ist noch nicht richtig aufgeheizt.

Bei mir ist es jetzt auch schon ein paar Jahre her das ich dort war. Ich war damals in Rhodos Stadt direkt am Zipfel oben wo man auch das Aquamuseum findet. Eine schöne Zeit...
Deine Bilder sind wirklich super toll und beschreiben genau das was ich damals dort empfunden hatte! immer wieder eine Reise wert.
Bin selber Grieche, allerdings aus dem Norden Griechenlands.
Damals (vor ca. 8 Jahren) waren die Speisen in den Restaurants auf Rhodos zu arg auf Touristen ausgelegt denn es gab zuviel Pizza, Burger, Spaghetti und zuwenig einheimische Tavernen.
Mittlerweile haben die sich wieder auf das was sie können fixiert! gute Tavernen sind wieder Standart geworden.

Mal schauen wo es mich dieses Jahr hin verschlägt... bin total Urlaubsreif.
