Hey guys!

This weekend was a good weekend for me photographically, and I got the opportunity to experiment and "play."

The results are posted on my other website, ThruMyLens - head over the best of the photos I came up with of my GMT Master II, in 1024x768 resolution by clicking here (http://thrumylens.org/featured/experimenting-with-different-backgrounds-for-watch-photography/) or on the below image.

Hi John

I don't know, why the enthusiasts keep so quiet. But I really like this silver background for this watch. It' a great photo, congratulations. The other two backgrounds shown on your webpage are not too impressive to me. For this pepsi, I would rather check with different textures of the silver plate. But I think you are quite at the optimum already. For my taste, the brushed steel plate similar to the brushed appearance of the wristband is just great. You do all your photos with watches showing time at 9:11?

Maybe they keep quiet because they do not like it, if they have to leave this board only to see some other photographs. Why not uploading all of them here?

Btw, very nice shot, John!

Best regards,
Kurt

Kurt - you're size limited here on R-L-X. On my own site, I can display them full size. :gut:

Thanks for the comments - yes, I typically shoot Rolex watches at around 9:10. The traditional 10:10 hand position tends to obscure the Rolex logo a bit with the Mercedes hand.

I understand!

Nice, perfect shot ...
but take care about the position of the second hand. :)
Kind regards

What's wrong with the position of the 2nd hand? :grb:

That was only a joke.
"I typically shoot Rolex watches at around 9:10. The traditional 10:10 hand position tends to obscure the Rolex logo a bit with the Mercedes hand", so does the second hand with index on the dial.
Kind regards
Volker

Maybe, only the second hand Mercedes drivers (like me) get that joke.

But before joking gets freezing cold, I'd like to ask if we can expect more different backgrounds. The starry one on your blog page is definitely not my cup of tea...

I'm always experimenting with different looks. Believe it or not, there's actually more people that just you out there...and some of those folks actually like that shot.

Great shot, congratulations.
Now, if the orientation of the brushed undergrund would match the one from the endlinks, it would be pretty close to perfection ;)
